A. M. SHAIKH HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE CONDUCTED AWARENESS WALKATHON

The Department of Human Anatomy, A. M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital & PG Research Centre, Belagavi, organized an Awareness Walkathon on 13th August 2026 to mark World Organ Donation Day. The walkathon aimed to create awareness among students and the general public about the importance of organ donation and its life-saving potential, with
the inspiring message, “One Donor Can Save Many Lives.”

The walkathon commenced from the college campus at Nehru Nagar and proceeded through Ramdev Hotel, Kolhapur Circle and in front of Samithi College before concluding at the college campus. Students, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and hospital staff participated enthusiastically, carrying awareness messages and encouraging the public to consider organ donation. The programme highlighted how organ donation can provide a second chance at life to patients awaiting transplantation and emphasized the important role of youth in spreading awareness. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promote the noble cause of organ donation and inspire the community to donate organs, save lives and spread hope.
