A. M. SHAIKH HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE marks world Blood Donor Day 2026 with awareness rally

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2026, the Department of Surgery and Homoeopathic Therapeutics of A.M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Belagavi, organized an awareness rally on 13th June 2026 to promote the importance of voluntary blood donation. The rally, based on the theme “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives,” commenced from the college campus to Kolhapur Circle and back, and was flagged off by the Head of the Department of Surgery, Dr. Saeed Ahmed.

Students carried banners and theme-based placards to spread awareness among the general public about the life-saving importance of blood donation. Following the rally, Dr. Saeed Ahmed addressed the gathering, highlighting the contributions of Dr.William Harvey and Dr. Carl Landsteiner, whose birthday is commemorated as World Blood Donor Day. He emphasized the significance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged students to become regular blood donors. The rally witnessed active participation from students, interns, PGs, and staff, with valuable support from the city police.
