World No Tobacco Day

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Department of Pathology & Microbiology, A. M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi, under the banner of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and in collaboration with the Gram Panchayat, Kadoli, organized an awareness program on 30th May 2026 at Kadoli Village, Belagavi District. The program was based on the theme “Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction.”

The activity aimed to create awareness among the general public and tobacco consumers about the harmful effects of tobacco on physical and mental health. Dr. Salman Khan Pathan, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, along with Final Year BHMS students (BH9), conducted a road rally and doorto-door awareness campaign. Villagers were educated about the dangers of tobacco use, deceptive tobacco marketing strategies, and the importance of adopting a tobacco-free lifestyle. The program concluded with a No Tobacco Pledge, encouraging participants to quit tobacco and motivate others to do the same.
