A. M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital and P.G Research Centre, in collaboration with ICMR-NITM, organized a Workshop on Bioethics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) at the Seminar Hall of ICMR-NITM. The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical ethical principles and the practical requirements of conducting clinical research.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Dr. S. S. Pujar, who highlighted the importance of ethical conduct and adherence to Good Clinical Practice guidelines in ensuring high-quality research outcomes.
Addressing the gathering, keynote speaker Dr. Subarna Roy emphasized that clinical research is a sacred trust between researchers and participants. he noted that bioethics serves as the moral compass guiding research, while GCP provides the framework that ensures the safety, rights, dignity, and well-being of participants throughout the research process. Together, they form the two essential pillars of ethical and responsible clinical research.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students, and healthcare professionals to enhance their understanding of bioethical principles and GCP standards.
